Amethyst is the stone of spiritual protection and purification. It known to soothe irritability, relieve stress and bring calm to a racing mind. It is thought that placing amethyst near your bedside or underneath your pillow can assist with insomnia and nightmares. 

Amethyst supports your third eye (6th), crown (7th) and etheric (8th) energy centers. It can facilitate astral travel and foster a deeper connection to the divine. 

Amethyst is popular as a tool to enhance meditation, intuition and psychic abilities. Due to its high frequency, it can act like a barrier against lower energies, providing protection during psychic or intuitive work. 

Historical Origin

Amethysts' recorded use dates back as early as 25,000 BC., with a particular rich history in Ancient Egypt. It was recorded that Pharaohs sought amethyst beads and amulets. There was even a large carved amethyst scarab found in King Tutankhamun’s (18th dynasty) tomb.

Early Greek and Roman societies place amethyst in high value, with its attributed properties being one of royalty. During that period amethyst was placed on crowns, scepters and the rings of bishops.
How To Measure Your Wrist

Measure the exact size of your wrist in the place where you would normally wear your bracelet.

Use a flexible measuring tape and wrap it around your wrist. Record the inches or cm amount.

OR

Wrap a piece of string around your wrist and mark it where it overlaps. You can cut the string where it overlaps if you want. Then place the string on a flat surface and measure beside a ruler.

How to Care

Take off when showering. Do not expose in direct sunlight for long periods as this will fade the stones colour.
How to Cleanse

Crystals you are working with or keeping on your body should generally be cleansed every 10 days or so.

Run your amethyst through sage or palo santo smoke to cleanse any prior energy the stone has picked up or absorbed

How to cleanse with smoke:

1. Open your windows

2. Light your sage or palo santo with intention – “I am lighting this sage to cleanse my amethyst crystal.”

3. Run the amethyst through the smoke, visualizing all prior energy releasing out the window

Cleanse with a singing bowl

How to cleanse with a singing bowl:

1. Place your crystal inside or just outside the singing bowl

2. Run the mallet around the rim of the bowl creating sound vibrations

3. Visualize all prior energy releasing from the crystals with the vibrations of the sounds
How To Charge

Crystals can be charged by way of:

1. Placing in the moonlight

2. Buried in sand or the ground

3. Sound bowl

4. Left in sunlight for short periods (be sure to double check if your particular crystal is sun sensitive)
Set your intention

In order to have your crystal work it's magick, you must set your intention with the crystal.

For example, if you want amethyst to help soothe your mind and assist in meditation you could do something like this:

1. Place the crystal in your left hand.

2. Close your eyes and take a deep calm breath.

3. Visualize yourself in a cave full of beautiful shimmering amethyst crystals

4. Speak aloud: "This is my amethyst crystal. It will assist in soothing my mind and nervous system. It will facilitate deeper states of meditation and support my third eye and crown as I enter expanded states of consciousness. Bless be."

5. Visualize a beautiful purple light swirling around you entering the top of your head filling your entire being with amethysts beautiful purple essence.
